caucus
The Newbury Democratic Town Committee will will hold a caucus virtually on Thursday February 10th at 7 p.m. to vote on our Democratic nominees for Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Secretary, Attorney General and Auditor.
Four delegates and four alternates will be elected to attend the 2022 Massachusetts Democratic Convention, scheduled Friday and Saturday, June 3rd and 4th. Delegates from across the state will meet at the DCU Center in Worcester. A virtual attendance option will be available to provide every delegate the opportunity to participate, and all voting will be performed virtually.
The caucus is open to all Newbury Democrats, including “pre-registered” Democrats who will be 16 years old by February 4th, 2022. A resident may register as a Democrat any time up to just prior to the caucus.
Delegate selection will be gender balanced, and votes will be made and secret. In the spirit of inclusion, youth, minorities, and people with disabilities who are not elected as delegates or alternates may apply to be “add-on” delegates, either at their caucus or online at www.massdems.org.
In case of weather or technical difficulties, a “rain date” will be scheduled and published.
The caucus will be held via Zoom. Attendees need to pre-register for this event and answer a few questions (name, address, gender, etc.) to streamline the sign-in process. Please pre-register using the following link and you will receive an access link:
